Black Tea Motorbikes, the German electric motorcycle manufacturer is now allowed to build and ship the first electric motorcycles to European & US customers. The homologation documents have been approved by the German KBA (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt), making it possible to register the Bonfire now.

“We are thrilled to have finally completed the homologation process of the Bonfire. It took us about one year to develop and certify the Bonfire after our initial crowdfunding campaign." remarked Sommer CEO of Black Tea Motorbikes.

Sommer further adds: "Until now we could only offer test rides on our company parking lot which limits the ability to really test the performance and acceleration of our motorcycles for interested riders. That is why we are really happy to offer now test rides on normal streets. We are also planning additional test ride opportunities in Germany & Austria during October. More information will be announced soon. "

Regarding the Bonfire X homologation Viktor Sommer explains: "We see a high demand for our higher motorised version, the Bonfire X, that is why we want to finish the homologation as fast as possible. Fortunately, the Bonfire & Bonfire X are nearly identical. Thereby, reducing the amount of total tests for the Bonfire X. We are feeling confident to ship out the first Bonfire X's this year as well."
