Ambassador FAQ

Here you can find detailed information about our Ambassador program.

Why is BTM looking for Ambassadors?

We would like to expand our reach in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

We love our community and believe that nobody can promote our bikes better than our own customers!

If you are an e-mobility enthusiast and share the vision that zero-emission bikes are the future of mobility, then this opportunity is perfect for you.

And the best thing about it: you can also benefit financially.

How does the Ambassador program work?

We receive test drive requests from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

To offer potential drivers a quick and local option, they can search our website for an Ambassador near them who owns the BTM model they want.

The potential customer books the test drive with the Ambassador. If the customer then places an order, the test drive booking allows us to track which Ambassador receives the commission.

PS: If the customer books several test drives, the Ambassador who took the last test drive will receive the commission.

How much time do I need to allow?

As a minimum, you should have 2 hours once a month to offer test rides on your bike.

If you are ill or on vacation, you can of course pause your availability on our website.

Where can I offer test drives?

Choose a public and prestigious location that offers riders a positive experience.

Ideally, the location should be close to the city center and offer shelter in case of rain.

Avoid areas with heavy traffic, as many test riders are riding an electric motorcycle for the first time or have just obtained their driver's license.

How long does a test drive take?

A test drive can take between 10 and 30 minutes.

The better you respond to the customer's wishes, the more likely it is that the customer will order and you will receive a commission.

What about insurance?

After your confirmation as an Ambassador, we will send you a link to our insurance partner.

There you can take out comprehensive insurance including rental vehicle protection.

Send us the invoice and we will issue you with a credit note for the costs.

This covers your annual insurance fees and all journeys are safe.

What condition should my motorcycle be in?

Make sure that your bike is in perfect condition. Check that no screws are loose, no rust is visible and the bike is clean before you present it to potential riders.

The better the condition of your motorcycle, the higher the probability that the customer will order and you will receive a commission.

During the free annual inspection, we check your bike thoroughly to make sure it really delivers ;)

How does the test drive work on site?

Every test driver must register for the test drive via the link on our website.

If your test driver drops by unannounced, please do not forget to register the driver via our website so that your commission can be assigned.

The driver must show you his driver's license and confirm his authorization for the test drive. You can take a photo of the driver's license and delete it after the test drive.

How high is the commission?

The commission is fairly structured ;)

You will find out as soon as you register for our program.

What about helmets and gloves?

Advise test riders to bring gloves, a helmet and, if available, motorcycle clothing.

It would be ideal if you had a spare helmet and gloves ready in case the riders turn up without their own equipment.

Do I have to register a business?

That depends on how professionally or regularly you organize the test drives:

  • One-off or occasional activities: If the brokerage activity only takes place once or occasionally and there is no intention to continue, no business registration is required. However, the income generated must be declared as "other income" in the income tax return in accordance with Section 22 No. 3 EStG.
  • Business registration requirement for regular activity: If the brokerage activity is carried out regularly and with the intention of making a profit, it is a commercial activity. In this case, a business registration in accordance with § 14 GewO is required.
  • Commission payments and tax liability: Irrespective of the obligation to register a business, commissions must always be declared for tax purposes. In the case of commercial activities, income falls under § 15 EStG (commercial income).
